I had just become unemployed (for those out of the loop…I am in between jobs) and what better way to celebrate the newly found freedom than meeting a dear friend. So we decided to meet again on Saturday, even though we had already met on Wednesday. She suggested that we meet at the Shopprix Mall in Sector 61 around noon.
I was there on time and she came soon after. She looked stunning in salwar kameez (should wear it more often). We headed for the food court in the lower ground floor and occupied a table. Then she powered her laptop on and copied the 4 seasons of F.R.I.E.N.D.S that I had got for her. She is a tea fanatic so we ordered tea for her and a cup of coffee for myself. We settled into an interesting conversation after that...
Read More It was a really hectic week. Last week at work (at CSC) and I had just returned to Noida after a Holi break at home in Doon. We had planned to meet on the 3rd of March as she had to leave for Jodhpur on the 7th and I had a planned rafting trip over 6th and 7th(which didn’t materialize). She told me on the 2nd eve that she would be visiting an uncle of her’s and would see me immediately after.
So on the 3rd I was ready and waiting to see her when she called and gave the the venue where I should wait for her. I reached the mutually agreed rendevouz point on time and ma’am also arrived soon after. We decided to head for the sector 18 metro station after that from where we took the metro to Connaught Place...
Read More This is a special card from a very special friend. Her art is as pure as her persona. The card is a testimonial to that.
To her- Can’t thank you enough for this. Have run out of words…
The one below is the one that I have supposedly made…If you want to imagine what it originally looked like, imagine it without the kajal shading and the outline. Just imagine a pencil drawing. But she managed to make a card out of it. Am wondering if this would classify as junk art [:D]
Read MoreThis post is about a very dear friend of mine and his experiments and accidents(or should I call them crash landings :P) with love. Abhay and I go back almost seven years when fate made us co sufferers at National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur. As if that wasn’t enough luck ensured that we became room mates and then best of friends.
A little background about Abhay first. This is required to appreciate his reactions and actions towards ‘acquiring’ a girlfriend. Abhay is a super intelligent, girl wary, liquor loving fellow. Ideally should have graduated from IIT but with the kind of luck he has, he had to suffer in the company of lesser mortals like me. However, the phrase girl wary does not mean he doesn’t have a heart or indicate a hormonal deficiency [specifically testosterone]...
Read More Dreams, it is said, impart life and a sense of purpose to our existence. We also tend to (atleast happens to me :)) forget the more purposeful ones and remember the more crazy ones. Dreams are also the most potent reminders of the boundlessness of human thought which is probably matched only by the infinite vastness of the universe itself. And trust me the following few the paragraphs will be a testimonial to our yearning for dreaming of the seemingly impossible[:)].
It was a lazy Sunday afternoon (the blame for all the laziness falls on the Sunday afternoon 😀 ) and I was getting extremely bored...
Read More She had been showing inclination to return home for her birthday so I asked her if she would meet in case she managed to come. She agreed and we decided to meet on the 22nd of January 2010, one day after her 24th birthday.
We decided to meet again at the Great India Place in Noida in the afternoon and she came there just before 1 pm. She was wearing a purple jacket and was looking very pretty (as always). She wanted to withdraw some cash from an ATM and we needed to locate a PNB ATM for that. She led the way as she knew where it was. After some sightseeing at the Atta market we(rather she) located the ATM. When she exited the ATM she came out looking disappointed. She didn’t remember the correct PIN [:D]...
Read More As the post title suggests I am one of those people who firmly believe that 2009 sucked more than all of the other years I have endured and lived through in my life span of 25 years. Seldom does a year that is so dull comes along. Few years have sucked the life of out my existence as 2009 did.
While life remained stable, it was without much fun. I have never spent so much time watching tv as I have done in 2009. Also I haven’t spent so much time craving to rush back to my parents as I did in 2009. I was simply not able to find enough reasons to step out of my flat during weekends in 2009. 2009 was also the first time in my life when I did not have enough friends around me. 2009 was also the year when I realized that NIT Jamshedpur was clearly and by far the best phase of my life...
Read More There is this one very dear friend of mine who is gonnna be out of town for six months due to some professional commitments. She and I decided to meet once before she leaves so that she could take my good wishes in flesh and blood :D. She was really insisting that I meet so I took some valuable time out of my otherwise extremely busy weekend schedule. I did not want her to leave with any regrets and miss me too much…I really care for my friends and she is no exception. Before she says “gasconade” I should get back to business.

Life, however beautiful as it may be, regularly presents us with dead ends and stone walls. Obstacles to our aspirations and our intense desires are not difficult to come by. More often than not they leave us and our loved ones between a rock and a hard place in extremely unexpected ways.Sometimes, it is the indecisiveness or lack of enough strength in some other person dear to us that affects us. Being attached to that person our natural reaction is try and make that person see what we perceive to be as a sensible approach. As we get more and more involved in that person’s troubles and the person does not budge from his/her indecisive approach, we end up feeling the same heat as that person. To be fair, the other person is not having a party either...
Read More Class 1: The journey starts. Mrs. Medley , caning, duster makeup, monkey park, picnic to guvvies is what i remember from class 1. I remember my first swimming classes…running and jumping into the pool where mr palmer and mr gomes would be waiting. Lunch breaks used to spent playing footta or “hand cricket” on the basket ball court. Mrs Medley had quite a personality and i dont think there was a soul in Sem who didnt fear her.
Class 2: Mrs. D’Raunjo. Mostly uneventful except for the unusually high number of students from other classes who would come to borrow chalk or the captains who would jostle with each other to be able to come and make announcements. Didnt know then that she had a simpler name “Dingi”. Remember her as a nice lady and teacher...
